Marche was alright, my only problem with it was I sunk so much time into it getting all the good weapons and pimping out my characters, and in the end I onehitko'd all three "final bosses" with different combos.

Feels pretty bad.

I put about 100 hours into each for the hell of it, not to grind just to fight.
Personally I liked FFT more, job system was fucking awesome. But FFTA was definitely great.

my only complaint is that sqeenix could learn a thing or two from pokemon and give the choice of choosing MC gender. I'd actually gone through all 400 missions if my MC sprite was more like Illua and not luso.

He only let people use him when he thought it was ok though. You make it sound like he was being manipulated completely, but everything he did post-timeskip, he did for the better, and more than once kicked fuckers that wanted to use him for their own gain. He was definitely naive in his ideals, but he was not particularly dumb about it.

Also the dude got a happy end despite not being recognized, unlike certain other king.

FFTA's story was far too linear and had no real turning points, kind of bland and more for portable tactical grinding than anything else.
The characters are just as forgettable in FFTA as they were in FFT, more so in my opinion.
Neither were really bad at all, you just can't hate on them unless you're some hardcore hipster.
